My friend Mia Marlowe has a friend Bonnie Vanak (who writes Egyptian-set historicals as well as wonderful Nocturnes!)who  alerted her to the plight of Harlequin author, Olivia Gates. Here’s the info from Bonnie’s blog:

As you know, protests are taking place in Egypt and the government has shut down internet communication. Author Olivia Gates, who lives in Egypt, has a February 1 release by Harlequin Desire called To Tempt a Sheikh. We’d like to get out the word about her book since Olivia cannot.

Let’s support an author who cannot access the internet to promote her book.

To Tempt a Sheikh by Olivia Gates

He rescued hostage Talia Burke from his royal family’s rival tribe and swept her into his strong embrace. Marooned together at a desert oasis, Talia couldn’t resist Harres. Yet even as his sizzling seduction entranced her, his loyalty to his family and country would always make them enemies. Falling for the sheikh would be her heart’s greatest mistake…but she feared it was already too late….

Life is Strange

I’ve blogged over at the Quirky Ladies this morning. I wish I could write in fiction with the same impact of the most riveting mystery of real life.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful for all my blessings, the wide, wonderful bizarre universe, the stuffing I just finished making, and the many people that I love. Happy Thanksgiving.

Wasn’t it a nice surprise to open my email the other day and find out that RULING EDEN was a finalist in the prestigious EPIC eBook awards in the fantasy romance category. Of course I have to wait until March and EPIC’s annual conference (In Williamsburg VA this year) to hear the final decisions about winners. Still, coming this far is fantastic. If only I could attend with Rachel, Gabriel, Sebastian and Tarn I might consider the trip.
