Great news! I’m a finalist in the PRISM awards contest for published authors run by the Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal chapter of RWA for my book RULING EDEN. The winner will be chosen this summer in Orlando at the RWA national conference. The book finaled in the fantasy category of the contest and I’m in very good company.
Almost more exciting than the PRISM final is the compliment I got at work the other day from my supervisor. She and my co-workers run a monthly book discussion group and I lent her a copy of RULING EDEN to read and decide whether it would be appropriate for the group. She doesn’t read fantasy or sci-fi or paranormal genre fiction, so I imagine she decided to be supportive of me and give my book a try. Guess what? She loved it and was all ready to call Oprah and start arranging for massive numbers of book signings at the local book stores. Although she has more than enough on her own plate and can’t become my PR person, I was thrilled to receive this compliment. It meant so much to me coming from a person who doesn’t choose books in my genre. So special thanks go out to Sandi for making my day.
On top of this, my editor tells me she’s hoping for a July release date for SURVIVING EDEN, the next in my Eden’s Court series. Be on the look-out for more of Rachel and Gabriel very soon.
